One line. Driving School Diary is the all-in-one diary for UK driving instructors: book lessons around your real availability, track every pupil's progress, and take the fee with Tap to Pay on iPhone, all from your iPhone.
Payments line. With Tap to Pay on iPhone and Driving School Diary, a driving instructor can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments on their iPhone, from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets. No extra terminals or readers needed. Terms apply.
Short paragraph. Driving School Diary is a private iPhone app for UK driving instructors. Its calendar shows free slots worked out from your working hours and existing lessons, with weekly repeats and mirroring into iOS Calendar. Every pupil has a profile and a report card that tracks progress on the official DVSA scale, with mock tests, lesson planning against the Highway Code, and a shareable PDF. On the money side there are invoices, prepaid hours, expenses, HMRC-rate mileage and a CSV export, plus a Take payment flow led by Tap to Pay on iPhone, which accepts contactless cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets on the instructor's own iPhone through their own SumUp account, and which also builds a pay link and QR for their own PayPal or Stripe, or records cash and transfers, always with a numbered receipt, so money goes straight to the instructor and the app never takes a cut. Cancellation fees, no-shows and deposits are handled properly rather than quietly lost. Receipts can be scanned with the camera and read on the device, an Insights screen shows revenue per taught hour and diary utilisation, a debtors list chases what is owed, and a tax summary totals the UK tax year against the SA103S box numbers with a set-aside estimate and Making Tax Digital quarters. It also brings a mapped day route with travel-time warnings and one-tap mileage, lesson reminders and a morning summary, WhatsApp-first messaging with reusable templates, Home and Lock Screen widgets, Siri shortcuts, renewal reminders for your ADI badge, insurance, MOT and DBS, and a CarPlay Lesson Mode for scoring a lesson hands-free. Everything stays on the instructor's device and their own private iCloud, with no accounts and no tracking. It is built in England by d4.
