These terms govern your use of d4vinder.com and the free tools and content we publish on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

The site is operated by d4vinder Ltd (trading as d4), a company registered in England and Wales under number 17149864, registered office 352 Bearwood Road, Birmingham, B66 4ET. You can reach us at info@d4vinder.com.

The tools are provided as-is

Our network tools (the CIDR calculator, DNS lookup, email-security checker, security-headers grader, TLS inspector, connection inspector and CVE tracker) are provided free and for general information. We work hard to make them accurate, but:

• They are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and must not be relied on as professional, legal or security advice.
• Results depend on third-party data (for example public DNS resolvers, the NVD and CISA feeds) that we do not control and cannot guarantee.
• You are responsible for how you act on the results.

Decrypted and the newsletter are opinion

The Decrypted articles, and the email newsletter that delivers them, are the personal opinion of their author. They are editorial commentary on security and technology news, written for general information and sometimes with a point of view:

• They are not professional, legal, financial or security advice, and no reliance should be placed on them as such. Take professional advice before acting on anything they describe.
• They reflect the author's honest understanding at the time of writing, with sources cited; the facts may move on after publication and articles are not routinely re-edited.
• Views expressed are the author's own and not those of any employer, client or other organisation.
• The newsletter is provided free and as-is; we do not guarantee that every issue reaches every inbox. How we handle subscriber data is described in our privacy notice.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the site and tools lawfully, and only against systems and domains you own or are authorised to test. You must not use them to attack, overload, probe without permission, or otherwise interfere with any third party's systems, nor to break any law. We rate-limit the server-side tools and may block misuse.

Intellectual property

The site's design, code, written content (including the Decrypted articles) and branding are owned by d4vinder Ltd unless stated otherwise, and may not be copied or reused without permission. The CVE data shown in our tracker is sourced from CISA, the NVD and FIRST and remains subject to their terms; we attribute it on the relevant pages.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or the tools, or from reliance on their output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version.
